Consultation charges

Patients seeing Dr Forbes in consultation in his rooms will be charged a fee commensurate with the time spent in consultation and the complexity of their medical problems. Part of this fee can be claimed back from Medicare; for most consultations, a gap payment is required. Full payment of the fee on the day of consultation is required.

Endoscopy charges

In addition to hospital charges, an account for Dr Forbes will be forwarded directly to most health funds. We recommend that you check your insurance to ascertain if you have a gap or hospital excess to pay. Dr Forbes has a gap cover agreement with most health funds, and charges according to their schedule of fees. Relevant item numbers are as follows:

• Gastroscopy: 30473
• Colonoscopy with or without polypectomy: 32222 - 32227 with or without 32229
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy: 32084

For most endoscopy lists, an Anaesthetist will be assisting Dr Forbes. If samples are taken at the time of your procedure, these will be sent for testing in a Pathology Centre. As a result, you may receive an additional account.
